Weekly Bareboat Charter or Daily Skippered Charter?

Bareboat Charter

A bareboat charter is an arrangement for the hiring of a boat, whereby no crew or provisions are included as party of the agreement, instead, the people who rent the boat from the Charter Company are responsible for taking care of such things.

Bareboat Charter has become increasingly common since the mid-1990s and in particular since the early 2000s. There has been increasing demand for boat charter vacations and many now consider it easier and cheaper to hire a bareboat, rather than own their own boat.

  • The price usually includes Insurance, mooring in base port, bedding, final cleaning.
  • The Price usually excludes Fuel, Skipper, Food, drinks & Spanish IVA (16%) to be added

Crewed or Skippered Boat Charter

Crewed Charter or Skippered charter is offered on a per day basis returning to the port each evening or on a weekly basis.

Crewed charter means the yacht comes with a crew. This can be anything from a 35-foot boat with a skipper to a 300-foot boat with a squad of 30 or more crew members including stewardesses, engineers, mates, deckhands, scuba dive masters, and the like.

Several factors determine the cost of a crewed or skippered charter, including the size of the boat, its age, the number of crew, and the destination.

In summary

Bareboat Charter, Crewed Charter or Skippered Charter is a fantastic way to explore the beautiful Balearics islands and have a luxury day out on the sea, dropping the anchor in secluded coves and swimming in the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean.
